Introduction to 3 Phase Induction Motor Working of 3 Phase Induction Motor

What is Motor :- An electrical component which converts as electrical energy into a mechnical energy is called as electric motor.

An electrical supply available in two different forms as ,AC and DC supply. The motor runs on AC supply as called as AC motors as Induction motor and Synchronous motor. They can be further divided into single phase and three phase motors.

An induction motor runs on AC supply, as AC supply is easly available. Therefore, an induction motor is extensively used in every part of the world. They are robust, cheap and require less maintainance.

A 3-phase induction motor has a stator and a rotor, unlike any electric motor. The stator of induction motor bears a 3-phase winding (stator winding) while the rotor of induction motor bears a short-circuited winding(rotor winding).

The stator winding is supplied from 3-phase AC supply. The rotor winding gains its power and voltage from the energized stator winding through an
electromagnetic induction and therefore the name is induction motor.

A 3-phase induction motor used in various applications with different load and speed requirements.
Its working is based on rotating magnetic field. Their working principle is based on Faraday law's of electromagnetic induction same like in case of transformers. They are also called as Rotating transformers.
