History/Background:- Indian Institute of Technology Bombay is a public college. Founded in 1958, the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay was the first institution to be established with the help of UNESCO. 

In 1961, the Indian Parliament declared it an institution of national importance. The institution is ranked as the highest IIT in the QS Ranking 2021 with 172nd position in the world rankings. Moreover, according to the list released by QS World Ranking 2022, IIT Bombay is the highest institution in India which is ranked 177th.

Indian Institute of Technology Bombay has introduced which mainly includes 18 companies that are Google, Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, Boston Consulting Group, Microsoft, Apple, Bain and Co in the placement drive for 2020-21. 

These companies were also among the largest employers of final year students for domestic jobs.  

The highest package offered by Sony Japan was Rs 1.63 crore per annum. Optiver made the highest international offer for IIT Bombay Placements 2020.  

The first day ended with 313 job offers which included both PPOs and internships. IIT Bombay commenced its placement drive of Phase-I of 2020-21 from December 1, 2020.
