What is the Meaning of this Practical:-
1. We know that Materials of high thermal conductivity are extremely used in heat sink applications of the electronics field
2. We also know that Materials of low thermal conductivity are widely used as thermal insulation. 


How this Practical we help for students:- 
In this experiment / the Practical student will measure the thermal conductivity of a material by using Searle's apparatus.


Practical Learning Outcome:- 
Use Searle's thermal conductivity apparatus to find the coefficient of thermal conductivity of a given material.


Theory of Thermal Conductivity:-
Steady/ Constant state of temperature is a state where the amount of heat in a slab is constant. As we know that Temperature gradient is defined as the change in temperature per unit-change in the distance. 

Its SI unit is 'K/m. 
The coefficient of thermal conductivity (K) is defined as nothing but the quantity of heat which flows in one second through a slab of given as material of the unit thickness and unit area of crosssection when its opposite faces are maintained at a temperature difference of 1°C.
